Curious by nature, technician by trade.
I didn't start in IT. I started in marketing, picked up a camera and got serious about photography, then spent years in retail management keeping stores, staff and customers running.
In 2026 I turned the thing I'd always done for fun — taking computers apart and figuring out why they broke — into the job. Today I'm a field and bench technician at EMS Mobile Computer Service in Las Vegas.
I'm still early in this career, and I like it that way — there's something new to learn every week. What carries over from every job I've had is the same habit: figure out how something works, help it work better, and explain it clearly.
The path so far
Taught me to listen for what people actually need.
Taught me to notice details and really understand my tools.
Taught me what downtime really costs a business with a line at the register.
Bringing all of that to the bench and the job site.
The lab
Where the log entries come fromMain rig — the 4090 came from a garage sale. Runs local AI image and video models.
AI assistants, Home Assistant and nightly backups, each in its own locked-down container.
Plex server. Tied together with everything else over Tailscale.
Network+ → Security+ → CCNA
Studying for Network+ now. Away from the keyboard: trail running, smoking meats, pulling the perfect espresso, and still shooting on my Fujifilm.
